I live in a small country town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I love living here because there are so many good hiking trails and it's only a half hour away from the snow during the winter.
I like to get together with small groups of friends for pot lucks, movies, camping, hikes, and day trips. I love the outdoors. We have a tradition in my family of going to the coast every year. There is something so calming and peaceful about the ocean.
I like the simple things in life - sitting by a camp fire at night, enjoying the smell of pine trees while you hike, getting so engrossed in a book that you can't put it down, laughing at a dog playing on the beach.
I like to cook and think it's a fun activity to share with a partner. I'm also a pretty good handyman. I like to do projects around the house and working in the garden.
I try to keep my mind active by doing crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. I walk and hike to keep in shape.
I have a low-key, caring personality, and I look young for my age (at least, that's what my friends say). I like animals and kids. I try to get together with my 3 adult children every couple months or so for "game night". Crazy games, lots of laughter.
Now that I'm retired I'm enjoying more of the trails and activities that the Gold Country has to offer. I'd love to travel around and see more of the United States. I'm looking for someone with a sense of humor. Being able to laugh and tease with each other is great fun.
