I am complex, yet fairly simple. Although I’m a working professional with a graduate degree, I yearn to leave the demand of the professional world behind me. All I really want is to transform my homestead into a working, profitable farm. I love to work hard and am not deterred by physical labor or dirt! I love to create, whether it’s learning the art of leather crafting or building a fort for the grandkids out of fallen branches and vines, it doesn’t really matter. I enjoy challenging myself and teaching the little ones that we’re all capable of doing just about anything as long as we believe in ourselves and don’t give up! I find the work itself rewarding, but who could resist building a fort for such little, future farmers!
I treat everyone with the same respect and kindness that I want in return. At this stage in my life, I would rather have no friends than have friends who are unkind or disrespectful towards others, untrustworthy, or unethical. Life is just too short, and I would like my impact on this earth and the people I love to be a positive one. I’ll admit that I don’t trust as readily as I did in my youth, but if I find someone trustworthy, friend or otherwise, I’m extremely loyal. I love to laugh but don’t feel like there’s been enough laughter in my life lately.
Ideally, I would really enjoy meeting someone with a kind heart and strong moral character who enjoys laughter, family, and the farm life as much as I do. Someone who, although mature and self-sufficient, is able to be lighthearted and carefree. Level-headed and easy going, more proactive and less reactive. Yelling, screaming, and overreacting is for teenagers. It’s just never been me. There are several sayings that still hold true: accidents happen, you shouldn’t cry over spilled milk, and those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
If you are the type of person who is more likely to encourage than discourage, forgive than hold a grudge, teach than belittle, and broker peace rather than war, then you’re off to a great start. If you’re allergic to animals, kids, dirt, or the outdoors, then we’re probably not a good match. If you’re not allergic to any of the above but you would rather sit on the sidelines, then we’re probably not a good match. For me, in order to choose a partner, he will have to be a true partner, equally matched yet able to complement each other. I’m hopeful that men like this still exist.
